The Front End Shop
I brought my 2001 Ford Super Duty farm truck into the Front End Shop due to shaking in the steering. I chose the Front End Shop due to their long standing excellent reputation and the fact that they had previously rebuilt the front end of another Ford truck I own. That truck is still going strong and has an additional 230,000 miles on it since they performed their rebuild some 30 years ago. They got the 2001 farm truck right in and diagnosed the problems in a Fairbanks friendly and professional manner. From underneath the truck on the lift, the technician showed me where the problems were, pointing out play in the ball joints by moving them, and other concerns. We scheduled the work for a week later. The work went exactly as estimated with no surprises. The technician (Scott) has a very high level of competence. He replaced all ball joints, stub seals, the drag link, aligned the front end, adjusted the steering box, rotated and balanced the tires, and lubricated the chassis, all work done as clean and neat as a pin. The truck, much to my amazement, now drives like it is new and not 17 years old. The only possible problem is that my wife now loves driving my “new” truck more than her own SUV.
